The Camden Fairview High School hosted its annual All Sports Banquet earlier this week to recognize student athletes, sponsors and supporters of its various athletic programs. During the event, each coach summarized their seasons ans shared stories about their student athletes and their accomplishments. The Tate Award-
CF Athletic Director Rickey Tucker opened the ceremony by thanking everyone that was able to attend despite a severe storm that made its way into Ouachita County just before the event started. CF High School Principal Cara Bowie, CFHS Assistant Principals Rodney Frazier and Ethan Bumpass also welcomed every to the banquet. Immediately afterwards, Tucker presented the Service Awards to people in the community that have donated their time, finances or resources to the to help the athletics program. Following that, Tucker announced the Senior Academic Awards for students athletes that have maintained a 3.5 throughout their high school career. There was a total of 30 recipients. Later in the evening, Michaela Griffith was also presented the Arkansas Activities Association/Centennial Bank Athletic Community Service Award. The award was $1,000 scholarship for Griffith's outstanding achievements in academics as well as in athletics.
Tucker also presented plaques in recognition of CF Athletic Trainer and teacher Miriam Shoemaker and CF Varsity Defensive Coordinator Devin Ball. Shoemaker accepted a position back home in Louisiana and Ball accepted the head coaching position at his alma mater Junction City.
