A Camden man who was injured in a shooting in Stephens was arrested and charged Monday with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and possession of controlled substance.
Eric Murray, 57, of Camden, was injured Monday in a reported shooting that occurred just before 9 p.m. on North First Street.
Ouachita County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a shooting which was initially reported as a drive-by. Deputies involved in the investigation said the incident was not a drive-by but was an aggravated residential burglary.
The incident resulted in the injury of one victim, Murray, who, according to a news release from the 13th Judicial Drug Task Force, was later arrested following the incident and charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and possession of controlled substance.
The arrest was made Monday in Stephens following the execution of a search warrant. According to the release the DTF assisted the Ouachita County Sheriff's Office in obtaining and executing a search warrant which led to the arrest of Murray.
"During the search, agents seized approximately 1/2 pound of Methamphetamine, 17 pounds of K-2 (Synthetic Marijuana), 4 pounds of Marijuana, 2 firearms, and US Currency obtained from illegal narcotics distribution," according to the release.
Murray had his first appearance in court on Wednesday with District Judge Ryan Phillips and according to the release, "Murray is being held on a $25,000.00 Bond."
