The Week 9 Camden News Players of the Week got it done on the gridiron in a variety of ways.

Ouachita County swept the competition with each team coming up with victories. The Bearden Bears had one of the best performances in the state against a highly touted Poyen Indian team. After shutting Poyen out in the first half, the Bears held on to pull the 29-14 upset.

Like Bearden, the Harmony Grove Hornets were celebrating its senior night last week when they dominated the Horatio Lions, 62-0. The Hornets recovered four fumbles during the game to ensure the shutout.

The Camden Fairview Cardinals were the lone Ouachita County team on the road last week as they traveled to Hot Springs to play the Trojans. CF won 34-6 to set themselves up to play for a share of the 5A South Conference title this Friday.

Harmony Grove's Damariyon Billingly tallied four touchdowns against the Lions- three rushing touchdowns and a 60- yard fumble return for a touchdown.

Bearden's Matthew Chambers, Tristan Olvey and Marky Jimerson combined for more than 300 rushing yards against Poyen.

CF's Maliq Musa Dennis and Ronald "Buck" Buckhanan each picked up interceptions against the Trojans. Dennis finished with 7 tackles, including a sack and two tackles for losses. In addition to picking up his sixth interception of the season, Buckhanan had two tackles for losses against Hot Springs.
