Friday, November 8 the Camden Police Department responded to calls reporting gunshots on McCullough.
The incident was reported to CPD at around 4:30 pm and according to a press release several calls were received reporting shots fired in the area of Agee and McCullough.
According to witnesses at the scene, following the gunshots a vehicle involved in the incident crashed into a utility pole and then drove away. Damage to the utility pole caused a power outage in the immediate area and Entergy was called in to repair the damage.
A vehicle was recovered by police a few blocks from the scene of the reported gunshots and vehicle accident. According to Ouachita County Sheriff's Deputies, the vehicle was still warm when they arrived and was believed to have been the car used in the incident.
The CPD press release following the incident on Friday states, "Officers arrived on scene and took one suspect into custody. Two firearms were seized from the suspect. There were no injuries sustained, however, there was some property damage to vehicles in the area and a utility poll."
At the scene, there appeared to also be damage to the front door of the home where witnesses state the incident occurred.
There is no further information about the incident at this time, but according to the press release from CPD the incident remains under investigation.
