The final ballot count of the Nov. 5 general election was completed Monday.

While most of the races in last week's election had clear winners at the end of the night -- three races remained dependent on the counting of 38 provisional ballots in the county.

Monday at noon marked the deadline to complete any outstanding requirements a voter may have had after casting their vote with a provisional ballot.

County election officials went to work to count and certify all remaining votes on Monday and while several of the vote counts changed, the results of last week's election remain the same.

The East Camden Alderman Ward 2 Position 1 and Camden Alderman Ward 1 Position 1 contested races came down to just one and four votes, respectively. The Justice of the Peace District 10 race came down to 18 votes.

The final, unofficial results of the Nov. 5 election show:

- Justice of the Peace District 10:Helen Aregood received 717 votes and Andre Toney received 702 votes.

- Camden Alderman Ward 1 Position 1: Edward Winters received 529 votes and Robert Arnold received 527 votes.

- East Camden Alderman Ward 2 Position 1: Jana Garcia received 118 votes and Rhonda G. Dunn received 117 votes.

The two alderman races are close enough that the election monitor, Mike Rowe, said last week that the candidates could request a recount.

It is currently unknown if either candidate will contest the results, however, Robert Arnold announced on Facebook last week he plans to run for Camden Mayor in 2026.
