Jonathan Wolfe
1. What will you do to serve the needs of your constituents?
As a Justice of the Peace, I will serve by having a common-sense approach to decision making on the Quorum Court. We need to be smart with the taxpayer's money as well as with how we deal in county affairs. I will listen to the concerns of my constituents and voice those concerns when needed. I look forward to serving the people of District 4 along with the rest of the citizens of Ouachita County.
2. What do you see as the most pressing issue facing Ouachita County?
Ouachita County is home. I have lived here for most of my life, and I love being here. However, as with any home, there are always opportunities for improvement. A few simple tweaks might do the trick. Sometimes a major change must be implemented, or a new way of thinking. If I am elected, I will have the opportunity to see areas of concern beyond my current scope of view. I suspect that I will see some different issues that I am not currently aware of or see as significant. We must do the main things well: maintain our roads, bridges, and other infrastructure, support our Sheriff's department and county fire and rescue departments so our citizens are safe, all while remaining fiscally responsible with the monies collected from our taxpayers.
3. What is your answer to the continued funding of economic development?
If I am elected as Justice of the Peace for District 4, I intend on getting a complete picture of the current economic development funding for Ouachita County. I look forward to working with others as we tackle the challenges of building a stronger economy in our county to the benefit of all our citizens. I pledge to understand better what has been done and what we can do moving forward in supporting our current businesses and industries to keep them here, while also making our county attractive for other businesses to come in that would bring jobs and opportunities to our citizens.
