The Week 8 Camden News Players of the Week put up huge stats. The Harmony Grove Hornets stunned the Centerpoint Knights on the road, 53-50 and the Camden Fairview Cardinals shut out the Hope Bobcats 66-0. The Bearden Bears fell in defeat to 2A top ranked Carlisle 55-8.

HG Hornet quarterback scored 7 touchdowns - three rushing, three passing and an interception return - in the game while also accounting for 354 offensive yards. Colton Fogle averaged a touchdown per reception last week as he scored twice on two receptions that totaled 125 yards.

CF's defensive line was dominate against Hope but J'Son Moten tallied three sacks in the first half to go along with 8 tackles. David Duhart and DeKayson Torrence also picked up three sacks in the game. Terrel Wilson had one sack and a fumble recovery that he returned to the Bobcat's 8-yard line.

Bearden's Marky Jimerson rushed for 117 yards and scored the Bears' lone touchdown.
