The Harmony Grove Hornets were able to preserve a happy homecoming by defeating the Smackover Buckaroos, 50-42.
HG was lifted to victory thanks to a three headed rushing attack. Quarterback Damian Burns led the team with 17 rushes for 155 yards and three touchdowns. Damariyon Billingly tallied 102 yards on 17 carries and Logan Nipp had seven carries for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Burns also complete a 75 yard touchdown pass to Colton Fogle and caught an interception on defense.
Keegan Jones led the Hornets defensively with 13 total tackles followed by Dannon Vint with 9.
The Hornets had to survive a late charge from the Buckaroos as they led 42-26 with 9 minutes left in the game. Smackover would tie the game at 42 with about five minutes left before the Hornet came up with the game winning touchdown and two-point conversion.
